Education for Youth Empowerment and Action
The importance of media nowadays is deeply
impressed and has an enormous influence on every single individual living on
this planet. Media has the power
to make or break any person in the world.
So,
the Church of North India felt the need of organizing a “Workshop on Media Education for Youth Empowerment and Action”
from 15th to 19th June 2007 at CNI Centre for Human
Potential Development, Nagpur to help young people put current
images and messages about people and communities into perspective by helping
them understand how the media work, why stereotyping exists, how decisions
are made, and why "it matters who makes it." Media education is
not about learning the right answers; it’s about consuming media images
with an active, critical mind and asking the right questions so as to bring
desirable changes in society and nation for which the Church is called for.
