Christians and Muslims Jointly Demand Equal Rights and Review of Presidential Order of 1950  

Christians and Muslims came together in large numbers today, Monday 30th April 2007, at Ram Lila Grounds in Delhi and demanded SC status for Dalit Christians and Dalit Muslims and delinking of religion in granting SC status.  The rally was jointly organised by the All India United Muslim Morcha, Dalit Muslim Liberation Movement and the National Coordination Committee for Dalit Christians.....more

Seminar on “Tribal Nationalists in India  

Diocese of Durgapur , Church of North India , organized a three-day seminar on Tribal Nationalists in India at the Tribal research Centre (Shanti Griha) on and from 4th May 2007.  

Participants from Eastern Himalayan Diocese, SBSS-Ranchi, Chotonagpur Diocese and Durgapur Diocese attended this seminar. A good number of educated tribals from adjoining districts also took part in the deliberations....more

Theatre Workshop for Street and Working Children of the Delhi Brotherhood Society

INAUGURATION OF 2 COMMUNITY STUDY CENTRES IN DIOCESE OF DURGAPUR

Two 5-yr old girls raped in west Delhi 

Three five-year-old girls playing at a neighbourhood park near Tilak Nagar in west Delhi were lured to a nearby house with sweets and sexually assaulted by at least four men on Monday evening, according to the police.

Story.JPG (31239 bytes)Nirmala is an 8-year-old, she proudly gets up to count numbers and say the Hindi alphabets with ease. She is the brightest student in the Haranala CSC. With neatly combed hair and bright eyes, she comes everyday from 9 am to 11 am to learn. This colony has no government school. It is the only place where children from 48 families can come and learn.

So, the Church of North India felt the need of organizing a “Workshop on Media Education for Youth Empowerment and Action” from 15th to 19th June 2007 at CNI Centre for Human Potential Development, Nagpur to help young people put current images and messages about people and communities into perspective by helping them understand
