13th Triennial Council of the
CNI-SWFCS held
 The
13th Triennial Council of the
Church
of
North India
, Synodical Women’s Fellowship for Christian Service was held at the
Center for Human Potential Development,
Nagpur
from 2-4 November, 2007. There were 81 delegates representing 19
Dioceses of the
Church
of
North India
who took part in the council. The Inaugural function was held on the 2nd
of November which was graced by the Deputy Moderator of the
Church
of
North India
, the General Secretary of the National Council of Churches in
India
, the Office Bearers and Institutional Heads of the Nagpur Diocese.
The
Inaugural worship started with the lighting of the Triennial Candle by
the Deputy Moderator of the
Church
of
North India
which was followed by lighting of the candles by the representatives
from the different dioceses of the
Church
of
North India
. The Keynote Address was delivered by the Rt. Rev. Purely Lyngdoh, the
Deputy Moderator of the Church of North India reflecting on the theme of
the 13th Triennial Assembly of the CNI-SWFCS “Arise,
Shine for your Light is come, and the Glory of the Lord is Risen upon
you” (Isaiah 60:1). The Deputy Moderator further challenged and
encouraged the delegates to arise and shine and to move on together and
work for the glory of God.
The
programme consisted of Bible Studies, Sessions on Role of Church in
Women’s Empowerment, Overcoming
Violence Against Women,
Women
& Men in God’s
Mission
, Workshop on Gender Justice, group works etc. The Director of
Programmes of the
Church
of
North India
, Mr.
Sudipta Singh
in his session encouraged the delegates to identify their potentials and
informed them about the plan for organizing a Gender justice Programme
for three days in all the dioceses starting from January 2008-March
2008. On the third day of the programme election for the new office
bearers for the triennium 2007-2010 was held and a team of ten members
committee was elected. The installation service of the newly elected
members was led by the General Secretary of the
Church
of
North India
and follwed by the Valedictory Address where he encouraged the delegates
to arise and work together.
New
Office Bearers of the CNI-SWFCS elected
On
the last day of the Triennial ie. 4th
of November an election was held and a new committee was formed. The General
Secretary of the
Church
of
North India
, Rev. Dr. Enos Das Pradhan was also present all throughout the election. The
installation service of the newly elected members was led by the General
Secretary of CNI. The newly
elected office bearers for the triennium 2007-2010 of the
Church
of
North India
