About
four lakh Indian children are engaged in hybrid cotton fields in
four cotton growing states, says a report by the India Committee of
the (ICN). ICN's director Gerard Oonk said,

Dalit
Christians plan stir for Scheduled Caste status
The
National Council of Dalit Christians on Tuesday stepped up their
demand for granting Scheduled Caste status to all dalits
irrespective of religion, and deletion of Para 3 of the Presidential
Order of 1950.
Constituents of the Council are also planning to resort to

to empower tribal women on cards
Jamshedpur:
To empower tribal women across the state, Campaign for Right to
Education in Jharkhand (CREJ) has identified 1,000 villages. The
move aims at social activists, educationists and senior members of
CREJ would hold a series of mass meetings with women, including
senior citizens, to advocate their role in the effective functioning
of gram sabhas at the grassroots level. ....more
