38TH WOMENS RALLY of Sambalpur Diocese held

The 38th DWFCS annual rally of the Diocese of Samablpur was held from October 1-3, 2011 at Diptipur CNI Church. The theme for the conference was “A women who fears the Lord is to be praised”. Prov. 31:30. 310 women from all over the Diocese gathered together for fellowship and worship. Revd. Mrs. Aparna Philip from Raipur was the speaker. She delivered the inaugural message.

The meeting was inaugurated by the Rt. Revd Pinuel Dip, Bishop, Diocese of Sambalpur as he lighted the 38 candles and offered the inaugural prayer and the local women’s fellowship members sang a song based on the theme at the inaugural.

Bishop Pinuel Dip took a Bible Study highlighting the theme to fear God is to (1) hate evil (2) live a clean life. Along with the different business sessions, a timely and well thought out paper was presented by Revd. Mrs. N. N. Chhatriya, (Coordinator, DWFCS) on the topic “The role and responsibilities of Christian Women in the present age”.
The DBSS coordinator, Mr. Asish Rajhans also spoke on the rights of women. The evening meetings were open air where large number of people attended to hear God’s word.

Besides these there were different competitions like “one act play” singing competition, Bible quiz competition. Women participated with great interest. Prizes were awarded for competitions and for those who have paid the assessments in full.

On the concluding day, Holy Communion was celebrated by Revd. Mrs. N. N. Chhatriya and the meeting came to an end in the evening with a candle light service where everybody re-dedicated themselves repeating the WFCS pledge and prayer followed by an entertaining cultural evening enjoyed by one and all.

This gathering of women is unique because women from all over the Diocese have the opportunity to come-together, meet one another by sharing their joys and sorrows and enjoying a rich fellowship through hearing God’s word and taking part in competitions. The DWFCS Diocese of Sambalpur is self reliant.
