CNI CELEBRATES ITS 41ST ANNIVERSARY
Mr. Alwan Masih, General Secretary, CNI Synod, welcomed the members of different church organization in the CNI Bhavan, CNI Synod Secretariat staff and guests at the thanksgiving worship service held on November 29, 2011 at the CNI Bhavan Chapel, New Delhi on the occasion of the 41st CNI Day. This was the first time the members of different offices in the CNI Bhavan came together to worship and praise the Lord for the united journey of the Church of North India and its witness and service.
Members of Leprosy Mission, NCCI, World Vision of India, Water Aid, Christian Today and Jesus Calls came together with the CNI Synod Secretariat members in praise and worship. All the organizations participated in praising and praying together for the successful united journey of 41 years of the Church of North India.
A special order of worship was prepared for the occasion. Biblical readings were taken from Ezekiel 37:15-22, Ephesians 4:1-6 and John 17:20-26. Dr. Shailendra Awale, Secretary/Chief Functionary, CNI Synodical Board of Social Services brought the message from the word of God. While quoting from Ezekiel 37:15-22, he said, “in Christ we are all joined with one another and are one in His hands.” His message highlighted the meaning and the relevance of unity in the Bible as well in our today’s journey with different sects of people. He further emphasized that our responsibility as a united Church towards the grassroots people in their struggle will make our united journey successful.
Members from the different organizations participated in the intercessory prayers calling upon the Lord for peace on earth and amongst his people. A special prayer was said for the safe release of Rev. C. M. Khanna, Presbyter in Charge, All Saints Church, Srinagar.
After the thanksgiving service all joined for fellowship tea.
