  BISHOP PHILIP MARANDIH IS THE CNI MODERATOR

The Rt. Rev. Dr. Philip Marandih, Bishop, Diocese of Patna was elected as the 12th Moderator of the Church of North India for the triennium 2011-2014 at the recently concluded 14th Ordinary Synod of the Church of North India, at St. Thomas School, Mandir Marg, New Delhi, on October 6-9, 2011.

Bishop Marandih was born on October 6, 1953. He is a B. A. Hons. Graduate from Sahibganj College. He has to his credit LL.B., a Masterís Degree in Philosophy and a B.D. from Bishopís College, Calcutta. He also has a Certificate in Pastoral Studies, from Westhill College, Birmingham, UK. 

He was ordained as a Presbyter of CNI on February 26, 1984. He was consecrated as Bishop, Diocese of Patna on September 15, 1996. He is a very prayerful, hardworking teacher and a pastor. He has ample experience in Church related bodies and organizations thus he has gained considerable knowledge. He has to his credit experience of working in Urban as well as Rural sectors. He is fluent in Santhali, English, Hindi and Bangla.

He is married to Naomi Lily. They have one daughter Prity Mary, and three Sons Pritam John, Praveen Masih and Patrick Emmanuel.
