Two New Doctors for K.S.N. Hospital
Dr. Shubhro Mullick and Dr. Elizabeth Mullick have joined K.S.N hospital from 1st Dec 2009. Both these Doctors have come from Scotland to give their specialized service in this rural hospital. Dr. Shubhro Mullick is a specialist Pediatrics/ Neonatics and Dr. Elizabeth Mullick is a specialist in obstetrics and Gynecology.

New Multislice C.T. Scan state-of-the-art machine Inaugurated
Wanless Hospital, Miraj Medical Centre, installed a new state-of-art Siemens Somatom Sensation 40 Multislice CT Scan machine, in the Department of Radio diagnosis, by courtesy and funded by ASHA USAID. Renovated St. Peter’s church rededicated
"Because zeal for your house has eaten me
up, and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me"
The Most Rev. Purely Lyngdoh, Moderator, Church of North India, rededicated and deconsecrated the renovated St. Peter’s Church Muirabad Allahabad on January 24, 2010. The Rt. Rev. Morris Edgar Dan, Bishop, Diocese of Lucknow was also present on the occasion.

Music Unites CNI SBSS’s intervention with the indigenous communities in the state of Jharkhand as virtue of being a part of the ACT Alliance was documented to be a part of the music video shoot. To this effect the team had visited CNI Resource Centre for Tribal Identity & Indigenous Rights and shot footage for their video from two of our intervention area in DBSS Chotanagpur. The team accompanied the CNI SBSS staff to various locations in their intervention areas to capture the life and struggles of the communities.

Budget Casts Gloom on Dalits
The present budget has again cast gloom on Dalits. Rs. 4,500 crore has been allocated for the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment which will be utilized not only for the welfare of Dalits but also for the welfare and upliftment of backwards and senior citizens etc. It has also been said that the scholarship amount to the students belonging to these categories would also be raised. The amount will also be utilized for the setting up a Sign Language Research and Training Centers etc. According to the Special Component Plan, the plan budget expenditure on Dalits should be in proportion to their population.

First Adhoc Executive Committee meeting held
The first meeting of the Ad-Hoc Executive Committee of Chhattisgarh Diocese, C.N.I., Raipur was held on 01-02-20 I 0, at the St. Mathew’s Church, Karbala, Raipur. The newly created Chhattisgarh Diocese is the 27th Diocese of the Church of North India. This Diocese was created by the 13th Ordinary Synod meeting at Pathankot on 20th October 2008. Chhattisgarh means a unit of thirty five plus of Fort. This word was first time used by a folk poet in 1487. The Chhattisgarh State is situated in the South East of Madhya Pradesh, which consist of eighteen Districts. As per the census of 1991 the total population of this state is 1 crore 76 lakhs.....more

ELECTED PRESIDENT, CBCI
His Eminence, Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Bombay, elected president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference (CBCI), the world’s fourth largest bishops’ conference. He says he would strive to make the Church outward looking serving people of all religions in the country. “There is a belief that the Church in India is inward looking as it keeps aloof from mainstream society,” the 65-year-old Cardinal told UCA News today. DR. JAMES THOMAS
ELECTED PRESIDENT, ASCTS Dr. James Thomas, Vice Chancellor, Padamshree D. Y. Patil University, Navi Mumbai and Professor of Cardiac Surgery at D. Y. Patil Medical College was elected President of the Indian Association of Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgeons (ASCTS) at their annual conference in Delhi. The Association has a membership of 2000 cardiac surgeons in India and abroad. The meeting was attended by 1300 cardiac surgeons from India, Asia and USA.......more
