28th Anniversary of Diocese of Rajasthan
Diocese of Rajasthan completed 28 years journey with the blessing of Almighty God on 29th November 2009. All the churches of different cities of Rajasthan gathered together to celebrate as EKTA UTSAV – 2009 at Mission Girls Sr. Sec. School, Ajmer. This celebration was the time of joy and happiness for the whole Diocese.
The celebration began with devotion. Many pastors, deacons and the members of different churches of Rajasthan were present. The Rev. George Charles, Presbyter In charge of Robson Memorial Cathedral, Ajmer conducted the worship service. Rt. Rev. Collin C. Theodore, Bishop, Diocese of Rajasthan challenged the members with impressive and effective sermon on unity. He called upon the members and said that, oneness, unity and togetherness should be adopted by the Christian community. We are all one because we are called by our living God Almighty. There must be unity in diversity as it is written in I Corinthians 12:6 – “There are diversities of activities but it is the same God who works all in all” Further in verse 13 – “For by one spirit we were all baptized into one body”. So we should pray that “Lord make me worthy.
Inauguration service of EKTA UTSAV-2009 followed the devotion. Mr. Mumtaz Masih, General Secretary, State Congress Committee was the Chief Guest. He inaugurated EKTA UTSAV.
Mr. Ambrose Baptist and Mr. Anjan Massey, Convener, Reception Committee, welcomed the guest and the Diocesan members. Members from different churches of Rajasthan took part in the EKTA UTSAV Mela. Member of Rajasthan Diocese who came too participated in the celebration had their stalls of different food preparations, snacks and cold drinks.
There was also a Baby Show for one to thee years old babies. Many mothers brought their babies for the show. For youngsters there was Master & Miss EKTA UTSAV – 2009 competition. Many young girls and boys took part in this competition.
The celebrations concluded prize distribution and honoring those who served the Diocese in various fields.
