Transformation through Inter-faith Community Study Center
The “Inter Faith Community Study Center” under Diocesan Women’s Fellowship for Christian Service (D.W.F.C.S.) under Diocese of Durgapur, C.N.I. is the remarkable example in the history of Bankura, West Bengal. It’s a district which is mainly based on agricultural and Home based industries. But the main town Bankura is much developed as compare to the other parts of the district. Mousumi Malakar is one of them who regularly and from the beginning joined the interfaith Community and Study Center with a vision to see Ray of Hope in her life. She lives with her parent along with her elder brother and sister. Her father is a rickshaw puller and her mother and sister work as a housemaid. The total income of the whole family is so less that it was hard for her parents to provide adequate and sufficient need to their children.
Now the scenario has changed. After she had jointed the center her life had took a u-turn: making her life healthy and leading her to the path of success. She is now studying in class-IV in Netonand Hari Saba Primary School. Her father Ramu Malakar and mother Anjana Malakar is now happy to send her to the center not because they needed better facilities from the center but they are doing for the advance future of her daughter, so that she can learn more about her life and in doing so she can experience the soul touching attributes of the Christianity. While talking to her I found out that now she is taking keen interest about the ‘Meaning of Life”. She is touched by the works of the community that we are doing. She is also getting sponsorship from ‘Holly Mackenzie Roberts’ from North Carolina, U.S.A. of sum 180 $ for the year 2008-2009.
She is very delighted when I took the name of Holly M. Robert because she knows who that person is and how ideal is he in her life. She wants to become a teacher after she finished her studies, so that she could also join the Champaign for the betterment of the society. Now a days she had learn a lot from the center like painting, dancing etc. Each time we can feel the new shine of Light from the Heart of motherland.
