Kolkata Diocesan Presbyters' Wives' Meet

Once more another new venture was ably taken by the initiative of the Rt. Rev. Ashoke Biswas, CNI Bishop of the diocese of Kolkata. Although Bishop himself a celibate it was his concern that the wives of the presbyters should get together in fellowship, concern and share their joys and sorrows. This materialized in the from of a Presbyters' wives' seminar at St. Paul's Cathedral. The better-halves of the clergy left their homes and children to be looked after by the priests. They sang and worshipped the Lord, shared, read the Bible, prayed and witnessed. The Bishop inspired the wives of the clergy by sharing a passage on Martha and Mary and giving examples of exemplary Clergymen of the past. The wives were very inspired and said that they should meet regularly.
