TAIZE BROTHERS SPEND TIME WITH JABALPUR DIOCESAN YOUTH

Br. Jean Patrick and Br. Andre of Taize Community, France recently visited the Diocese of Jabalpur, Church of North India. Earlier in the year 2007, Mr. Neelesh B. Sonawane and Mr. Shitij Cyril Jacob represented the Church of Noth India and had participated in the Taize Community programme. During their visit Bro. Patrick had expressed his desire to visit Jabalpur Diocese. A youth get together was organized under the leadership and guidance of The Rt. Rev. Dr. P. C. Singh, Bishop, Diocese of Jabalpur. The meeting was held at Christ Church Cathedral, Jabalpur. More than 75 youth of the dio0cese participated in the Youth meeting with the brothers of Taize community. 

The Rev. Arvind Peter led the opening prayer while praise and worship was led by the Christ Church Cathedral Youth followed by welcoming the brothers by gifts & bouquet.

Br. Jean Patrick while expressing his views for the youth shared that: “Since my youth, I have never lost the intuition that community life could be a sign that God is love, and love alone. Gradually the conviction took shape in me that it was essential to create a community with men determined to give their whole life and who would always try to understand one another and be reconciled, a community where kindness of heart and simplicity would be at the centre of everything.” According to Brother Roger “God is love alone”.

The short cultural programme with skit, duet Song and group song were presented by the local churches of Jabalpur. Bro. Patrick and Bro. Roger showed a short film on the “Life in Taize”. The movie highlighted the struggle and hard works of Late Br. Roger (founder of Taize community) and other brothers of the community. After the movie presentation, Br. Andre had a very fruitful and interactive session with the youths.

Mr. Shitij Cyril Jacob, proposed Vote of thanks on behalf of the SYFC and DYFC Committee. The Rev. Dn. Bruce Thangadurai, Mr. Sameer Swamy, Mr. Rishu Pathak, Mr. Ashish Dhanyabad, Mr. Jason Langon and Mr. Atul Adarsh worked hard to make this programme a success. Dr. N. K. Boro led the closing prayer and Br. Andre pronounced the benediction.
