St. Thomas Children Present Alibaba and the 40 Thieves

Six hundred tiny tots of the St. Thomas School, Junior Section, presented Ali Baba and the forty thieves, as their annual musical extravaganza based on the famous Arabian tale to a packed house.

Mrs. Gurleen Lovely wife of the Education Minister, NCT Delhi was the chief guest. At the outset, Mrs. Anuradha Amos, Principal, welcomed the chief guest and the dignitaries present. She said that the play was an attempt to bring out the creativity inherent in each child – discover new talent and hone the existing skills amongst the children. It is also an exercise in team work and thereafter develop the emotional cotenant of the child.

The performance was held at the Helen Jerwood Hall, on April 25th and 26th, 2009. The play produced by Mrs. Anuradha Amos, Principal, Ms C. Manoharan, Manager and Ms. S. Jacob, in charge, Junior Section, has been directed by Ms. M. Mitra and Ms E. Bose assisted by Ms. G. Gupta and Yanpo. Ms Mitra and Ms. E. Bose also were the choreographers for the well defined dance. The music was excellently composed by Mr. Kiran Pradhan (English), Ms. M. Mitra and Ms. E. Bose (Hindi). If it was not for the wonderful singing of the school choir the music would not have been so beautiful to the ears. The St. Thomas School children are the best in singing. The highlight of their programmes has always been the singing by children.
