PUT OFF ELECTIONS IN KANDHMAL CNI CALLS

When Abhishek John’s father died last year and he could not pay Rs 900 fee for his final school term, he was thrown out of St John’s Cathedral College in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, and barred by the principal from taking Class IX examination. Water is a 'human right', church groups declare at Istanbul forum

Istanbul, 20 March (ENI)--Members of the church-backed Ecumenical Water Network are urging that water be affirmed as a "basic human right" by government delegations meeting in Istanbul at the World Water Forum. "The right to water and sanitation is firmly grounded in international human rights law," said a statement signed by EWN members Church World Service, the Church of Sweden and Norwegian Church Aid, along with other "civil society" organizations.
