Sunday School Maha Samelan Held At Durgapur

A Sunday School Maha Sammelan (Gala Event) was organized by the Diocesan Sunday School Committee of the Diocese of Durgapur recently at the St. Michael’s School Auditorium. Nearly 105 Sunday school students and teachers from all over the Diocese attended the programme with delight and passion. The children and teachers experienced three days of learning, camaraderie, teamwork and sharing. Interactive session, group discussions as well as team works were held through which the participants learnt a lot about the many aspects of life as well as Christianity. The most indulging session was the one taken by Ms. Helen Carr from the West Midlands Synod of the United reformed Church in UK. She taught the participants how to hand make Friendship Bands from threads. The children very enthusiastically wove the bands and after making tied them on each others writs pledging to stay united and continue the friendship forever. No one could realize how the three days flew by because everybody was so occupied with the programme. A cultural evening engaged one and all present to do something like sing, dance, recite etc. The talents that the children showed were really remarkable. The children have promised to come back for the next programme with much more enthusiasm and have expressed their thanks for arranging for such a beautiful programme.
