Empowered Youth to Work for Human Rights 

The Diocese of Amritsar, Church of North India organized a youth leadership development programme at Alexandra School, Amritsar from 16^th to 18^th November 2008.  The programme was attended by 35 youth from different pastorates of Punjab.  Inaugurating the programme the Rt. Rev. P. K. Samantaroy, Diocesan Bishop, called upon the delegates to be leaders whose actions reflect the nature of Christ.  The programme was facilitated by Mr. Kasta Dip, Mr. Rajnish Paul, Ms. Rajni Bhatti, Mr. Daniel B. Das, Mr. Om Prakash, Mr. Naveen Haque, and Rev. Lily Samantaroy.  Dr. Vinita Roy, the Diocesan Youth Coordinator, coordinated the programme.  Having discussed different issues the region is facing with the youth decided to lend hands to the Diocese in its prophetic mission to protect human rights in the region and thereby offer their leadership to various wings of the diocese.
