Youth for Anti-trafficking Crusade

In a youth leadership development programme organized by the Diocese of Patna, Church of North India, at Diocesan School from 6th to 9th November 2008 the delegates committed themselves to work for anti-trafficking crusade initiated by the Synod in the region.  The Bihar state in eastern India records a high rate of human trafficking.  Having understood the issue and discussing their role as church youth, the delegates are confident that they can make difference.  The programme was facilitated by Mr. Pradip Bansrior and Mr. Kasta Dip.  The Rt. Rev. Dr. P. P. Marandih, Diocesan Bishop and Deputy Moderator of Church of North India Synod sent off the delegates at the valedictory service.  Out of 65 delegates a selective 12, who are theatrically potential, has been chosen who would be given training by professionals on street theatre.  The trainee will make the street theatre a tool of communication to make the people aware of the issue.  The programme was aimed at empowering the youth for leadership and conscientizing them on social issues like human trafficking, poverty and oppression.
