Youth Leadership Development Programme at Durgapur  

The Diocesan Youth Fellowship, Diocese of Durgapur , West Bengal organized a Youth Leadership Development Programme from 23rd to 25th May 2008, at Shanti Griha, Aldrin Path, Bidhan Nagar, Durgapur – 713212. The programme started with the inaugural worship on 23rd May at 06:00 p.m. led by the Chairperson of DDYF Rev. Sumanto Naru, and President Ms. Madhumita Prasad. The hon’ble guest present for inaugural worship were Mr. A. K. Roba (Finance Secretary) Mr. A. K. Murmu (Property Manager) Mr. Kasta Dip (Youth Coordinator, CNI Synod), Rev. Samuel Halder (Presbyter In-Charge), Mrs. L. Kobiraj (Project In-charge, DCSDC), Ms. Lynn Coulthard (Missionary, USA).  

After the inaugural worship the sessions for the Youth Leadership Development Programme started with 30 heads 2-2 representation from each pastorate of the Diocese of Durgapur. To conduct the programme the Resource Persons were Mr. Kasta Dip, Mr. Pratim Roba, Mr. Dibyendu Bagal and Ms. Pinky Ghosh.  The session were based on understanding self, understanding group/group dynamics, Personality Development, Gender Analysis, Smart Leadership Programme, Youth and Human Rights, Communication, Programme designing, Bible Studies, Understanding CNI, Group Discussions, Reports and even activity games.  

The entire programme was very meaningful and helpful for all the participants as it reflected to understand a new meaning of ‘How To Be A Leader?’ The efficiency of building up new leaders for future and basically to focus a new purpose of being a Leader. It also helped in developing ourselves, our Pastorates and the Society we live in. A new thought reflected and provided new views mottos and focused on new challenges to build up a better world around us.
