Youth Leadership Development Programme at Tezpur

It was during 3rd to 5th June 2008 a leadership development training was organized by the Diocesan Youth Fellowship Committee of the Diocese of North East India at Fr. Wyld Retreat Centre, Tezpur in Assam where a group of 30 young boys and girls from different pastorates participated and got oriented with the skills and behavior of leadership.  The Rev. Michael Herenz, Diocesan Youth Director prayed and kicked off the programme to flow on.  With a short keynote address he called upon the delegates to be the body of Christ and put on his character as well.

The facilitators Mr. Kasta Dip, Mr. Brightlingson and Ms. Jirina Khaklari led the participants through a process of understanding self and the society of which church is an integral part.  The country side environment of the venue where the programme was held had definitely something to do with its effect.  Besides, the facilitators also imparted the knowledge on communication skills and basic concept of mission of the church in the given context of North East India which is reeling under ethnic tension and issues related to tribal people.
