, one of the oldest colleges in
Nagpur

North India
, is euphoric about its quasquicentennial celebration in 2008.
The year long celebration was set on the runway with its
inaugural function held on Tuesday, 11th December 2007 in the college
quadrangle at 6:00PM. Dr.
Pankaj Chande graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
The other dignitaries and guests of honor were Dr. (Ms.) Kamal
Singh, Vice Chancellor of Amaravati University, Dr. P. W. Bhelwa, former
Principal of Hislop College, Dr. Ved Prakash Mishra, Vice Chancellor of
Dutta Megha Institute Medical Science, Rev. Dr. Enos Das Pradhan,
Chairman of the Hislop Education Society and the General Secretary of
the Church of North India Synod, Mr.
Sudipta Singh
, Secretary of the Hislop Education Society, Dr. Asish P. Bhelwa,
Principal of Hislop College, Rt. Rev. Dr. D. K. Sahu, the General
Secretary of the National Council of Churches in India, Rt. Rev. Paul
Dupare, Bishop of Nagpur Diocese and Rt. Rev. Naresh Ambala, Bishop of
Eastern Himalaya Diocese.
The
College, in its 125 years of glorious journey has produced many eminent
personalities in the field of education, science, politics, and fine
arts etc. who are now shaping the destiny of
India
. Through its academic
excellence and professionalism the
Hislop
College
has established a culture of discipline and commitment for the welfare
of the nation. As an
institution it has excelled not only in curricular performance but also
in extracurricular activities earning a name for itself both nationally
and internationally. Managed
by the
Church
of
North India
the college has contributed substantially to the development of science
and technology and time and again has created students friendly
environment in its premises. Its
meritorious position in terms of results declared is astounding and is
on the rise. As the college
celebrates 125 years of existence and service it also celebrates the
efficiency of Hislopians in various fields and professions.
On this auspicious occasion the Alumni Association was
constituted and installed.
