Annual Youth Festival of Diocese of Eastern Himalaya 

The scenic beauty of Tindharia, a village in the hills of Eastern Himalaya, was intriguing and local church was euphoric with the gathering of 120 young people as they met there for their Diocesan Annual Youth Convention organized during 29th to 31st January 2007.  The Rt. Rev. Naresh Samuel Ambala, the Diocesan Bishop inaugurated the Convention with a keynote address on the theme “Caring youth for community transformation”.  He called upon the delegates to see beyond they can think and challenged them to be channels in establishing the coming kingdom of God. 

Rev. Dr. Sunil Caleb, Professor from Bishop’s College, Kolkata led the Bible studies on Mission and Servant Leadership and challenged the delegates to be true disciples of Christ.  He made them understood what is Mission and how Good News can be preached through personal witness and by being living example through different services.  Mr. Kasta Dip, Coordinator, Youth Concerns of the Church of North India Synod outlined the role of youth in transforming community stressing more on inter-faith approach.  The other resource people who facilitated different session and encouraged the delegates include Mr. Navo Ratna Pradhan, Mr. Pravat Rana and DISHA staff.  At the end of the Convention new leadership was elected to plan and coordinate youth programmes of the Diocese in its different zones.
